Blackout
Have what it takes to wear the hat?
Bigfoot appreciates a BIG Challenge, and so do we. Do you have what it takes to complete all the routes in the MTB, Gravel, Multi-Sport, or Trail passports? If you do, we have our special blackout hat for you.
Because Bigfoot is such a big believer in trail work, you can join one of our trail steward partners for trail work in place of checking one of the route boxes on your passport. Our trail steward partners include the Redding Trail Alliance, Trinity Trail Alliance, The Watershed Center, the Mount Shasta Trail Association, and SORA. Contact any of these organizations to find out how to get involved with the trails near you. Yes, that means you can help on the trail, and you don’t have to ride or run one of your least favorite routes.
Note that there is only one blackout hat per person. In other words, if you complete the MTB and Trail Running passports, you only get one hat. I’m sure you can live with the amazing accomplishments. Nice work!!
Also, please note that the blackout hat prize excludes Family Passport Challenge participants, Dog Passport Challenge participants, or e-bike riders. E-bike riders are not eligible for the blackout prize because our partners at the Forest Service currently do not allow e-bikes on non-motorized trails—BUT, they are eligible for socks by completing at least three e-bike-allowed routes.
This year, we are again offering the option to purchase a blackout jersey at your cost. Once you complete the blackout challenge and submit your passport, we will give you a link to the store to purchase your super cool jersey. Costs range from $60 to $85, depending on your desired style. The jersey design is still being finalized.
