ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE CHALLENGE?
April 1–May 31, 2026
Welcome to the Bigfoot Adventure Challenge, where you can experience the wild part of Northern California by exploring it on your bike or on foot. Thanks to our amazing sponsors, the Challenge is free (yes, FREE!) for all kids, adults, and dogs to participate in. Discover some of the most exciting and challenging routes Bigfoot Country offers on your mountain bike, gravel bike, trail running shoes, with your dog, or for juniors, any way you want.
Although the Challenge is April and May, Bigfoot challenges you to ride, run, and hike our amazing trails all year long. This website will be kept up to date with cool trail routes, how to get to them, and how we think best to navigate them. Enjoy!
STEP 1. Get Your Passport & Get Out
You can download your passport for the various adventures on the MTB, Gravel, Trail Running, Dog Adventure, Multi-Sport, or Family pages. Check three boxes on your passport and win some cool Bigfoot Adventure Challenge socks, or check them all (blackout) and win the socks and a unique blackout hat. Some keys to note:
Plan Your Adventure
It’s very important to note that our designed routes can be completed in a way that works best for you. Our mapping includes a trailhead start, but you can start your adventure anywhere along the route that works best for you. We are fortunate in Redding and our other Challenge communities that many of our routes can be started from your home, work, or favorite coffee shop without driving to the trailhead. Start your adventure from the comfort of your home, intercept our mapped route at the best location for you, substantially complete the route, and check the box on your passport.Route-Ready
Make sure to check the route pages on our website, as we will indicate whether the route is ready for you. We are fortunate to live in an area where snow can happen on the valley floor, and rain can fill our creeks. Oftentimes, our trails aren’t fit for humans or Bigfoot; plan accordingly.
STEP 2. Submit Your Passport
You must submit your completed passport by the end of the day on May 31. Use the fillable PDF passport, or just take a picture of it on your phone and email it to us at bigfootadventurechallenge@gmail.com. Or just include a list of routes completed in your email (no passport) and send it to us at the same email address.
Step 3. Get Cool Stuff!
All Challenge participants who successfully complete three or more routes on a passport will receive an official pair of Bigfoot Adventure Challenge socks (while supplies last). Blackout riders will receive the Blackout hat (while supplies last). Once you email us your passport, we will provide instructions on how best to pick up your swag.
NOTE:
One pair of socks for each Challenge participant (even if you submit passports for MTB AND Gravel, for example)
One hat for each Challenge blackout participant (again, even if you submit passports for Gravel AND Trail Running, for example)
One dog prize for each Challenge participant
Family Challenge participants are not eligible for socks or hats, but do get our super cool Bigfoot Gets a Pair of Socks book and challenge sticker. One book per family.
E-bike Riders are not eligible for blackout prizes but are eligible for socks and stickers. It’s not that we don’t like e-bikes; however, due to land manager policies, they are not allowed on many of our Challenge routes.
Step 4. Attend the Closing Party & Win an Adventure Store Gift Certificate
All MTB, Gravel, Trail, and Multi-Sport Challenge participants who submit a passport will be entered into a drawing for gift certificates redeemable at their favorite local adventure store. If you submit passports for multiple challenges, you will be entered into the drawing for those challenges (yes, more than one chance to win!).
NOTE: All winners must attend the Closing Party to win (details pending).
